We arrived is Saskatoon on May 14th, settled in and relaxed. We have been here three weeks now and boy has the time gone by fast. It has been wonderful watching spring arrive, the trees getting their leaves and now the lilacs are smelling as beautiful as they always do.

We have spent our time taking walks and riding the bike along the river, exploring downtown and just enjoying living here. The weather has been up and down. For the most part sunny and warm, but sometimes as high as 30 and as low as 12 the next day.

I think Joerg is feeling the reality of mosquitos … the little devils impeding on our outdoor time. It may soon be time for the bug spray and coils.

A few days ago, it was Green and White Day here in Saskatoon and the Saskatchewan Roughriders where here for a practice on the football field just outside our campground. It was great fun to wander over and check out the action. It was bringing back fond memories of the Tiger Cat fan days of my youth.

Last night we went out to a camino pilgrim gathering and met Lea (the local coordinator) and a few others. It was great to meet the locals and talk camino. It is getting us excited for our next camino walk in exactly a year from now. The best part though was how shocked they were that we were staying a month in Saskatoon. When Lea was introducing us around, she would say “they are here for a month, and get this, they don’t have any family or friends here”.

We haven’t really done any “tourist” things yet, but we still have 1 and a half weeks to go so we will get out and see that stuff soon. I definitely want to see the art gallery and the western development museum.

Enjoy the videos below from Joerg from around Saskatoon. Be sure to also check out our video pages as there are videos there not in the posts.
