We also made it out to see the Remai Modern Museum (the local art gallery) in our last week. We always enjoy going through contemporary art museums. This one had a room dedicated to art purchased from the regular art gallery that had closed and it was quite a pleasant surprise to be wandering though and suddenly seeing a painting of Shawnigan Lake by Edward Hughes. It sparked a tiny ache and lots of pride for home.
The Remai gift shop is also where we found the newest addition to our family, aptly named Saska. As soon as I saw him, I absolutely knew he was meant to come home with the Rosenthal’s. He is a beautiful rainbow coloured stuffed Emu and is a perfect younger brother to Camino. Ok, before you start looking to book me in with a therapist … yes, I know they are only stuffies, but for some mysterious reason, they bring us huge smiles … so whatever works eh?
The last couple days were spent cleaning up, organizing and getting last minute things done before we packed up and hit the road. We loved living briefly in Saskatoon and would definitely make it a stop if we pass this way again. We are spending the next two weeks on the road with a goal to be in Hamilton Ontario by July 1st. Next stop, Winnipeg.
