Well, we finally made the decision, we bought a dolly to tow the car behind us. We thought long and hard about this decision and changed our minds a few times, but after meeting Gary (the nice man who sold us the dolly) we were confident and comfortable that we could do this.

When we purchased the RV, we had decided we would not get a dolly. We would survive without it and just rent cars, take buses or taxis if we needed to. This is our first RV and we wanted to make it as simple as possible as we really didn’t know what it would be like to drive.

Then we started to think about our needs (like me getting to tennis games) and we thought “perhaps a car would be good”. We then decided we would rent a dolly and see how it goes, and if we didn’t like it, we could always drive the car behind.

The time was drawing nearer to departure, and we started to research renting a dolly and we would pay more to rent by the time we got across Canada than it would be to buy one. So, we started to look at buying a used one.

We thought some more, and believe it or not, for about a day or two we had decided to forget the whole dolly thing and not take the car.

Then along came Gary. He was selling his “nearly new” one in Duncan so we drove down to take a look and it was in such great condition and Gary took the time to explain everything that we decided to take it.

So, less than two weeks away and we have a dolly.

Phew … I hope all our decisions are not this laborious, but I suspect it may be the first many.
